After launching on World Refugee Day on 20 June 2016, Tandem held its first NGO information session at the beginning of July.  This very first outing into the world of European NGOs took place at the most appropriate of venues: Mundo-J, a hub for organisations from different sectors including youth, development and education.  This building is one of the centres of the EU-NGO world.

The Tandem team gave a short overview of what Tandem is, its aims, and most importantly, what NGOs need to do to host a volunteer.

Mohammad, the very first Tandem volunteer, shared his experiences from his placement with the European Volunteer Centre (CEV).

Despite the fact that the summer holidays were already underway, over ten organisations were present – all of whom have since signed up to Tandem!

More Tandem NGO info sessions will take place across Brussels in the coming months.  If you think your sector, your federation or network would be interested in having a Tandem presentation, then let us know!
